Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, although Sky Sports News HQ understand a deal has not been formally completed.
This is despite photos appearing to show Xhaka wearing an Arsenal shirt at the club's London Colney training base, which have been circulating on social media over the past 24 hours.
Sky sources understand a deal to take the 23-year-old to the Emirates Stadium will be completed over the next few days.
Sky in Germany reported in March that Xhaka's father had met with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
Xhaka is contracted to Monchengladbach until 2019 after joining them four years ago from Basel.
He played the full 90 minutes in Switzerland's 1-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland in Dublin in March and is expected to feature prominently for his country at Euro 2016 this summer.
In February, Xhaka, once dubbed the 'young Bastian Schweinsteiger' by former Bayern Munich head coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, told Sky in Germany he was keen on a move to the Premier League.
"I think everybody has a dream," he said. "Everybody has a childhood dream and that's my childhood dream. If my dream comes true, it remains to be seen. At the moment I cannot say how realistic it is."
