Jack Wilshere played a full 90 minutes for Arsenal's Under-21s on Thursday and did not shirk the physical side of the game in a 3-1 defeat at Swansea.
The England midfielder has not played for the Gunners first team this season after suffering a leg fracture back in August but came through the full U21 Premier League Division Two match at Landore unscathed.
He nevertheless got stuck in from the start with some firm tackles and was also on the end of some uncompromising treatment, including a solid bodycheck from Swansea's Dan James which left Wilshere flat on his back.
He was, however, only winded in the challenge and towards the end of the first half, the 24-year-old sent a shot flying over the bar.
In the second half, with the Gunners 2-0 down to goals from Adam King and Kenji Gorre, Wilshere set up Serge Gnabry to score, thus claiming an assist and getting his side back into the game.
There were a few worrying moments towards the end of the match - first, Wilshere went down when he lost his footing but seemed to be OK.
He then he suffered an accidental elbow to the face from Gorre, but shook it off and completed the full 90 minutes.
Swans sub Alex Bray scored the game's fourth goal, the 3-1 win confirming a play-off place for Gary Richards and Cameron Toshack's side.
