Liverpool supporters ejected from St James' Park home end after clashes with Newcastle fans

Newcastle

Liverpool fans were ejected from the home end at Newcastle after clashes broke out between supporters during the Reds' 3-2 victory at St James' Park.

A total of 22 individuals were removed from the stadium during the game and Northumbria Police have confirmed that seven arrests were made in and around the stadium on Saturday.

Footage has also emerged in a newspaper purporting to show supporters fighting on a Newcastle street after the game.

Newcastle say they will be reviewing match-day CCTV footage in an attempt to find out who sold tickets to Liverpool supporters despite prohibiting general admission and club colours from hospitality areas.

"While the stadium is monitored closely, any supporter who feels threatened or witnesses any instances of abuse or disorder at St. James' Park is encouraged to speak to their nearest steward or police officer."
