Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino trained in goggles on Wednesday as he continues to recover from an eye problem suffered at Tottenham.
The Brazilian started on the bench for the midweek Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain after being caught in the eye by Jan Vertonghen last weekend, with Daniel Sturridge starring in his place.
Sturridge started for the first time this season and scored the opener in the 3-2 victory at Anfield to set up a selection dilemma for manager Jurgen Klopp when Southampton visit Merseyside on Saturday.
Firmino has had a superb start to the season, and scored the 90th-minute winner against PSG, but Sturridge is pushing for a first Premier League start after resurgent form of his own, also scoring in the opening-day win over West Ham.
Both players took part in Thursday's session at Melwood, which is soon to end its decades-long stint as Liverpool's training ground as the club move to a redeveloped version of their academy site in Kirkby.
Team-mate Andrew Robertson, who set up Sturridge for his goal against PSG, says the England striker is "ready to go" if called upon by Klopp, after praising his performance against the French champions.
"Bobby got an unfortunate injury on Saturday and there's Studge ready to go. I thought he was different class for 70 minutes - he was brilliant," Robertson said.
"Then Bobby comes off the bench and scores. It shows you the quality we've got in the squad. I was delighted to get an assist and it was a great header by Studge to set us on our way.
"He sums it (the quality in depth) up. Credit to him, and I'm sure all the boys sitting on the bench can look at him and they'll make similar impacts when called upon."
