Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane face a 9,000 mile round trip to Ghana the day before Liverpool play Everton in the FA Cup, Sky Sports News understands.
Both players, along with Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, have been shortlisted for the African Player of the Year award which will be presented at the Confederation of African Football awards gala in Accra on January 4.
Liverpool have confirmed the players will be travelling to the event by private plane, which will allow them to attend and still be available for selection, fitness and injury permitting, for the third-round tie the following day.
Salah has made an excellent start to his career at Anfield, scoring 14 times in his first 18 Premier League appearances and 20 goals in his first 26 games overall, equalling Daniel Sturridge's record.
Aside from his goalscoring feats for Liverpool, Salah also scored the injury-time penalty for Egypt that sealed a 2-1 win against Congo and secured a place at next year's World Cup in Russia.
Mane scored 13 goals and registered eight assists for Liverpool last season and has scored seven times and provided five assists so far this term, despite missing several games through injury
