Jurgen Klopp was left angry with Liverpool's performance after they were held to a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Anfield.
Burnley took the lead through Scott Arfield with their first shot on target after hesitation by centre-backs Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan allowed the ball to drop between them in the middle of the penalty area.
The hosts responded through Mohamed Salah's fifth goal of the season, and his fourth in succession at Anfield, but what followed was more a failure of Klopp's attack to break down Burnley's determined defence as they finished with 35 shots but just nine on target.
And Klopp was frustrated with his side's wastefulness in front of goal.
"I'm angry about the performance, Klopp told Sky Sports." In a lot of moments of this game you cannot play better football than we did today but we didn't finish the situations with their goalkeeper making two outstanding saves.
"The quality is there and I saw a great attitude. I saw them running, I saw them playing and I saw them fighting, but I didn't see them scoring and that's a problem.
He added: "The boys will take their chances in the future, there's no doubt about it, but in this moment it doesn't feel right.
"That's the thing we have to accept but a draw is difficult to accept at the moment."
Klopp also thought Liverpool should have been awarded a penalty when Salah went down in the penalty area under a challenge from Ben Mee during the second half.
"I'm sure it was a penalty on Mo Salah," he said. "If a centre-half goes to ground in the penalty area behind the striker and the striker goes to ground, what should it be?
"He didn't play the ball. I don't know why [it's not a penalty].
"You need to have luck in football sometimes and you need to have a referee that makes the right decisions.
"We drew at Watford. It was an offside goal but we still drew there and today we drew again after what I thought was a clear penalty. We can't change that."
Philippe Coutinho, who a month ago handed in a transfer request in an attempt to force a move to Barcelona, received a rapturous welcome at Anfield on his return to Liverpool's starting line-up, and Klopp was full of praise for the Brazilian's performance.
"Philippe Coutinho had a great game," the German said. "He was a very important player for us.
"When he's on the pitch sometimes we use him too much, we give him the ball too much. That's not his fault, it's because everyone likes his skills.
"However, he was outstanding and showed a really good attitude. He was also very unlucky with his finishing but on the whole good."
