Jurgen Klopp delighted in Liverpool's "first ugly win" of the season after they beat Burnley 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds were beaten by the Clarets earlier in the campaign and have dropped points against Swansea, Hull and Leicester this year.
But, after falling behind to Ashley Barnes' early goal, the Reds fought back to win thanks to strikes from Georginio Wijnaldum and Emre Can.
While Klopp acknowledged it was "not the most memorable game in the history of Liverpool", he was pleased with the final result.
"The performance was good enough to win the game, the result is massive," he told Sky Sports.
"I thought it was our first ugly game we have won. Usually when we are not good, we lose. We are not used to it yet, so it feels a bit strange."
After Barnes scored in the seventh minute, it looked like being another frustrating match for Liverpool as they struggled to create clear chances until Wijnaldum's equaliser.
Can then scored from distance on the hour mark to secure all three points for the hosts.
"It was intense and we had to fight," said Klopp. "We had a few moments, so I don't think it was only luck that we scored the equaliser.
"It was clear we had to do a few things better in the second half, and we did. We were really in the game, we fought, took the battle and I liked that, it's this kind of game which we haven't won until now."
Klopp admitted his side took their time to get into their stride at Anfield.
"The first five minutes of the first half were ok, but the most consistent team in style is Burnley, and they play how they play and are really used to it," he said.
"They fight for second balls, they had a better formation, and we couldn't adapt that quickly. We didn't find the target often enough and we lost the second ball. So they were always in the game.
"I am happy about three points, that's the most important thing."
