Liverpool were the better side in the three games they dropped points from and could have won every encounter so far this season, says Goals on Sunday guest Ray Houghton.
Houghton, who made 202 appearances and scored 38 goals for the Reds, believes they could be sitting firmly at the top of the Premier League if they had taken chances in the three Premier League games they failed to win.
Liverpool are currently in second spot, tied on points with league leaders Arsenal after picking up 20 from nine games.
Their one league defeat came against Burnley on August 20, when Sean Dyche's men saw off the visitors with a 2-0 victory at Turf Moor.
Jurgen Klopp's side picked up a point a week later away to Tottenham, when a second-half strike from Danny Rose cancelled out James Milner's 43 minute penalty.
Four back-to-back league wins followed, before Jose Mourinho's Manchester United interrupted Liverpool's winning streak by grinding out a stubborn goalless draw at Anfield.
Reflecting on Liverpool's impressive form this campaign, Houghton told Ben and Kammy: "So far they could have won every game they've played.
"(Against) Burnley, they had 80 per cent possession, but didn't convert it into chances or goals.
"They went to Spurs, drew there and they were by far the better team.
"Manchester United, probably the best chances, Coutinho's shot was well saved by De Gea. Emre Can's effort with his left foot where the 'keeper got down brilliantly to make the save.
"They are the only games they've not won and I thought they'd been the better side in those matches as well."
