James Milner reckons Liverpool are starting to build momentum, with Saturday's 5-1 victory over Hull taking them fourth in the Premier League table.

Their only defeat so far was a 2-0 loss at Burnley in August, and vice-captain Milner believes they are a much different team to last season.

He added: "If you don't perform, the shirt will be taken off you and someone will else get the chance and you don't know how long they will have that shirt.

"That is really pleasing. You need that competition for places to drive each other on and hopefully we can keep improving as a team."
