Daniel Sturridge came off the bench to score twice in Liverpool's 5-0 win over Burton in the EFL Cup Second Round

Daniel Sturridge scored twice as Liverpool beat Burton 5-0 in the EFL Cup second round on Tuesday evening.

The striker has had a torrid few years after a spectacular 2013/14 season, suffering with a number of injuries that have kept him sidelined.

However, he is starting to find his feet again and started Tuesday's game at the Pirelli Stadium on the bench.

Sturridge came on in the 64th minute with his side already 3-0 ahead thanks to goals from Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino and an own goal from the Brewers' Tom Naylor.

It took 14 minutes for the England international to find his stride and net his first, tapping in from close range after some good work from James Milner and Sadio Mane.

Five minutes latter, he made it two and powered a shot into the bottom corner from 18 yards to complete the scoring.
