Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has warned both his new and existing players not to get too big for their boots ahead of the start of the new season of the Premier League.
Klopp has been re-shaping his squad this summer, with Georginio Wijnaldum becoming his sixth new signing on Friday, following Loris Karius, Joel Matip, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan and Alex Manninger.
With several new additions to the team, the former Borussia Dortmund manager admitted he was both nervous and excited about how the new players would blend in with the old.
"Of course I am [excited]. But I think most of the other teams are in similar places and have made some transfers they like and are satisfied with the team they have. That's the only problem I have," Klopp told Liverpool's official website about his recent signings.
"But I am quite excited about our situation. We will be ready for the season, 100 per cent. We are really looking forward to it.
"We will fight for everything and we will challenge everybody - that's the plan. We will use this time to train and we will really try to build a real team and group. Each player is important for this."
However, Klopp also cautioned players that they are part of a team, and that no player was 'more important' than anyone else.
"It will be really important that every player thinks he is really important, but in the moment when he thinks he is more important than other players, then we have a problem," he said.
"So they need to be ready for the challenge, the new players and the players we had already.
"They have to challenge each other but they can still be best friends, because it's not about being better than him, it's about being the best you can. I'm quite excited."
