Former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger is training with Liverpool and could be awarded a contract if he impresses.
The Reds are looking for extra goalkeeping back-up and the 39-year-old Manninger is a contender to battle Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius for first-team minutes next season.
Manninger has been capped 33 times by Austria and has played for clubs in England, Italy, Spain and Germany during his itinerant career.
Mainly a back-up during five years at Arsenal between 1997 and 2002, Manninger made an important contribution to the Gunners' 1998 Premier League title success.
Filling in for the injured David Seaman at a key point in the campaign, he kept six clean sheets in a row, and special dispensation was granted so he could be awarded a Premier League winners' medal, despite not having made the mandatory number of appearances.
He went on to spend time at Juventus as a back-up to the great Gianluigi Buffon and has been with German side Augsburg for the last four seasons.
