Jurgen Klopp has admitted he had to look at the crowd during the penalty shoot-out as Liverpool beat Stoke to make the Capital One Cup final.
Simon Mignolet was the hero at Anfield on Tuesday as he saved two Stoke penalties to secure a thrilling 6-5 shoot-out victory after the tie finished 1-1.
Klopp expressed all his usual touchline emotions as he booked a trip to Wembley for the first time since guiding Boussia Dortmund to the Champions League final in 2013.
"I did not see one penalty," the German said. "I was behind the wall of my players, so did Simon save a few or not?
"Usually I want to see them, but people in the front row said they couldn't see - someone asked me to go down because I'm so tall.
"But I have a bad knee from 20 years ago so I couldn't kneel through the whole thing. That's why I sat on the chair - I could see nothing, but it felt good looking at the crowd! I will have to watch them at home."
Klopp and his jubilant Liverpool players can now put their feet up on Wednesday night and watch the second semi-final, live on Sky Sports 1, to see if they will face Manchester City or their Merseyside rivals Everton.
The Capital One Cup final will take place on Sunday February 28 and Klopp is keen on the Toffees holding on to their 2-1 advantage from the first leg and overcoming City.
On the prospect of a Liverpool and Everton final, Klopp added: "The people of this city are amazing.
"The way that red and blue mix together. It is a great thing that they have rivalry in football but together so well and I think they deserve it."
