Liverpool striker Christian Benteke has been ruled out of the Capital One Cup fourth-round tie with Bournemouth on Wednesday night because of a knee injury.
Benteke came off the substitutes' bench to score in the 1-1 draw with Southampton at Anfield on Sunday, but also sustained a knee problem which will keep him out of the match with the Cherries.
The Belgium international has not been ruled out of this Saturday's Premier League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is already light of recognised frontmen in his squad and remains without Daniel Sturridge, while Danny Ings has undergone surgery after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in training earlier this month.
He is likely to continue with Divock Origi in attack for the visit of Eddie Howe's side, who they beat 1-0 at Anfield in the Premier League in August under the management of former boss Brendan Rodgers.
Klopp confirmed in his pre-match press conference his intention to make changes to his side, with youngsters Connor Randall, Cameron Brannagan and Joao Teixeira all expected to play some part.
Brannagan, the current Liverpool U-21s captain, signed a new long-term contract with the club on Monday, much to the delight of Klopp.
The German said: "He's a great young guy. He has everything you need for a footballer. He's really a talent."
