Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge missed the 0-0 draw with Spurs with a knee problem - but it is not thought to be serious.

It was decided on Saturday morning that he would not be risked and did not feature in be match-day squad for the game at White Hart Lane.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed: "Daniel is not serious but in a week where we have had two ACL injuries [Danny Ings and Joe Gomez] we cannot risk it.

"He had a one-one-one with Jordan Ibe in training yesterday and after had pain in the knee. We screened him to be sure. There is a bit of swelling but nothing serious. I hope he will be ready to play on Thursday but I do not know."

Sturridge has struggled with injury problems for more than a year, recently returning from a long absence following surgery on his hip.

Sturridge returned in the 1-1 draw at home to Norwich on September 3 and has made just three appearances so far this season.
