Cesc Fabregas thought he'd provided two assists for Chelsea against Middlesbrough - until Monday Night Football presenter David Jones told him otherwise.
The Spaniard believed he had set up Diego Costa's opener at Stamford Bridge and Nemanja Matic's second-half strike as the league leaders cruised to a 3-0 win.
But a Fabio touch just prior to Costa's finish meant Fabregas was only credited with the assist for Matic's goal.
The midfielder looked surprised to get the news on Monday Night Football but can comfort himself with the fact he still made Premier League history.
The assist for Matic makes Fabregas the first player in Premier League history to record at least 10 in six different seasons.
Victory for Chelsea means they are on the brink of winning the title for the second time in three years and they can wrap it up with a win at West Brom on Friday Night Football.
