Chelsea suffered a double injury blow ahead of their Super Sunday clash away to Manchester United with Thibaut Courtois and Marcos Alonso ruled out due to injury.
Sky Sports News HQ understands Courtois sustained an ankle problem while playing basketball in a commercial shoot, with the 24-year-old replaced in the starting line-up by Asmir Begovic.
When asked before kick-off about how the Belgium goalkeeper suffered the injury, manager Antonio Conte told Sky Sports: "I think it is not important now to understand the way that he had this injury.
"The bad news is that he is injured and now it is important to work to recover very soon.
"Thibaut Courtois for sure is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but we trust a lot in Begovic. I am sure today he'll play a great game."
Chelsea were dealt a further blow when Alonso hobbled off during the warm up at Old Trafford with a suspected hamstring injury.
The Spanish full-back had featured in the Blues' previous 25 matches and was replaced in the starting line-up by Kurt Zouma.
