Antonio Conte is sure Chelsea made a 'great buy' in N'Golo Kante as the France midfielder prepares to face his former employers Leicester City.

Kante did not play in Chelsea's EFL Cup fourth round clash against the Foxes, a game the Blues won 4-2, and the Italian is sure he will be motivated to face Claudio Ranieri's side.

Kante turned down the chance of Champions League football with last season's shock title-winners to move to London and try and help Chelsea recover from the disappointment of finishing 10th.

"I'm pleased N'Golo took the decision to come with us," Conte said.

"N'Golo is an important player for the present and the future for Chelsea.

"We did a great buy. He brought great will to fight and he's a humble man, a humble player. I like him. I like these type of players that put the team before himself.

Conte also expects the midfielder to bounce back quickly from his mistake against Arsenal last month, when he was caught cold by Arsenal's Mesut Ozil during their rivals' 3-0 win.

"I prefer he made a mistake through generosity than another type of mistake," the Italian added.
