Juan Mata reacted to Manchester United's failure to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League with a very short blog post.
The Spaniard used just seven words to vent about his feelings following United's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield that sees Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side miss out on Champions League football for next season.
Writing on his personal website, Mata said: "You deserve better. No more words needed."
Presumably directed at Manchester United fans, Mata's apology will do little to soften the blow, with Solskjaer's side picking up just eight points from their last eight games.
Since the Norwegian took over at Old Trafford, Manchester United have had the third-best record in the league, but results have slumped since beating Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Mata's contract expires at the end of the season, but Solskjaer is hopeful the Spaniard will sign an extension to keep him at the club.
