Manchester United's Eric Bailly out for season after injury against Chelsea
Monday 29 April 2019 15:39, UK
Eric Bailly will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury during Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
The Ivory Coast international was forced off the pitch after a collision with Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic in the 68th minute.
The 25-year-old defender fell to the turf clutching his right leg as the pair battled for the ball during the draw at Old Trafford.
Bailly has made seven appearances for United in 2019 and 18 in all competitions this season, in a campaign hampered by fitness disruptions.
Regarding the centre-back's injury, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "He will need a scan tomorrow but I don't think it is the worst knee injury you can have.

"He will be out for the rest of the season, I don't think we will see him again before next season.
"But he is a warrior, he played well today, he was calm, he was composed and it was just unfortunate that he had to come off."
A stretcher was initially brought over to take Bailly off the Old Trafford pitch, but medical staff then helped the defender off the field to receive further treatment.
Bailly was replaced by Marcos Rojo, who came on to make only his fifth Premier League appearance of the season.
United striker Marcus Rashford (shoulder) had also limped off minutes before, and was replaced by fellow forward Alexis Sanchez.
In his post-match interview, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Sky Sports: "Rashy [Rashford] has struggled with his shoulder, he came through an hour but couldn't do more."
Solskjaer did not confirm whether or not Rashford would be available for United's final two Premier League games against Cardiff and Huddersfield.
