Marouane Fellaini

Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez has dismissed talk of a row with Manchester United over the fitness of Marouane Fellaini.

Fellaini was omitted from Friday's 25-man Belgium squad for their UEFA Nations League fixtures against Iceland and Switzerland based on information from United's medical department.

The midfielder then played the full 90 minutes in United's 3-1 derby defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday.

"What happened with Marouane Fellaini is something that happens constantly in dressing rooms. Due to the circumstances he had to play and it was incredible to see him play for 90 minutes at an incredible level.

"There's been nothing strange about the situation of Marouane. But it's good to see that sometimes you make a squad decision on Friday and the player can feel a lot better two days later as we have seen.
