All the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Sunday, June 4.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Man Utd are lining up a world record £100m bid for Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale after cooling their interest in Antoine Griezmann.

It is understood that the club are optimistic of getting the deal over the line, with Los Blancos' reported interest in David de Gea a potential point of leverage.

On the subject of the goalkeeper, the Mail on Sunday says that Real Madrid have been waiting to launch their bid for the Spain international until after the Champions League final.

But club president Florentino Perez played down talks of a move, telling Spanish outlet Atresmedia "De Gea is a great goalkeeper who plays for United. I don't know where he will play next season because I'm not a fortune teller."

Rumoured Man Utd target James Rodriguez was not included in Real Madrid's winning Champions League squad on Saturday, heightening talk of a summer exit.

Sky sources understand that United have been offered the chance to buy the attacking midfielder in the upcoming transfer window, although it is understood Real will seek a sum of around £50m for his services.

Ander Herrera is also said to be a £30m target for La Liga club Valencia, according to the Mirror.

Manager Marcelino is a huge admirer of the midfielder after the two worked together at Real Zaragoza and has asked owner Peter Lim to try to land him this summer.

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane says that he came close to an Old Trafford move last summer, as Sky sources understand that Man Utd are still interested in the Frenchman's services.

The Star on Sunday reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played his last game for United with the club electing not to take up the option to offer the striker a second year on his contract.

The same newspaper also says that Man Utd could use Wayne Rooney as a option in a deal for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
