Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba missed Sunday's Premier League clash at Tottenham due to the death of his father.

Fassou Antoine, who was 79, passed away on Friday after a long illness, and Pogba returned to France instead of taking part in the final ever match at White Hart Lane, live on Sky Sports 1 HD on Super Sunday.

United were also without fellow midfielder Marouane Fellaini, who serves the last of a three-match ban.

Jose Mourinho featured U23 defender Axel Tuanzebe in the side, after he made his debut against Arsenal last weekend, with United preparing for the Europa League final against Ajax on May 24.

Pogba has not played a Premier League game since Burnley at the end of April, after suffering a minor injury of his own.

Luke Shaw (foot), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (knee), Marcos Rojo (knee), Ashley Young (hamstring) and Timothy Fosu-Mensah (shoulder) are all out for the season.

United needed victory at the Lane farewell to keep their hopes of finishing in the top four alive, after Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all won over the weekend.
