Manchester United have signed 17-year-old midfielder DJ Buffonge after a successful trial period.
Buffonge has joined on a scholar contract after featuring for United's U18 side at the beginning of the season before suffering a groin injury in August.
The teenager started out with Arsenal's academy before joining Fulham in July 2010. He left the Championship club in the summer.
Meanwhile, United Academy coach Paul McGuinness says the progress of Jesse Lingard and James Wilson through the Old Trafford ranks is a great incentive for all the club's youngsters.
He told the club's official website: "You don't know when it will come [the call to join the senior squad] so you have to be prepared all the time.
"You can't have a day or week off and think I'll be OK, I'll not live my life right over the weekend, because you don't know when the call is coming. It could be on Monday morning and you're with the first team. So you've got to be prepared 24-7. It's got to be your dream, and you've got to do it every day."
