Luke Shaw has absolved PSV Eindhoven defender Hector Moreno of any blame for the challenge that left the Manchester United left-back with a double leg fracture.
Shaw underwent two operations and spent four nights in a Dutch hospital earlier this month after a mistimed tackle by the Mexican defender left him facing at least six months out of action.
Last Friday, centre-back Moreno and PSV boss Phillip Cocu visited England international Shaw at the St Anna Ziekenhuis Hospital, on the outskirts of Eindhoven.
"What happened to Shaw was very unfortunate," Moreno told Metronieuws. "I was just in shock.
"I'm glad I was able to go speak to him. I went with Phillip Cocu to the hospital.
"That was very difficult at the beginning, but he was very kind to me and didn't blame me.
"He had seen the images and said it was part of football. That made me smile."
Shaw was transferred to a private hospital in Manchester last weekend before being allowed to return home on Tuesday.
