Chris Hughton says Brighton's players have "no choice" but to react in their relegation face-off with Cardiff after being embarrassed 5-0 by Bournemouth.
Brighton's relegation fears intensified after a dismal 5-0 defeat to Bournemouth, which sets up a huge encounter at the AMEX on Tuesday when Cardiff - five points behind Brighton - visit with the hope of saving their season.
Hughton's men also still have to play Tottenham, Arsenal, and Manchester City this season.
The defeat to Bournemouth their worst Premier League home defeat and Hughton, whilst acknowledging their predicament, wants to see his players put it right on Tuesday.
"They know how poor a performance it was," he said.

"The team have no choice, on Tuesday night people, especially me, will be looking for a reaction. There isn't one player in that dressing that hasn't been through an embarrassing or humiliating defeat and had to go again, it's the nature of the game. We have to go again, take this game - which was out worst defeat and overall performance - on the chin. We will have a motivated Cardiff team that will be here on Tuesday night."
Brighton will also be without winger Anthony Knockaert for the Cardiff game, and the two that follow, after he was sent off for scything down Adam Smith.
Hughton had no complaints with the decision that occurred when his team were already 2-0 down.
"I've seen far worse but I will accept it's a reckless and emotional challenge," he said.
"When things aren't going well, players and the team have to deal with the frustration. He didn't deal with it. He was sent off and rightly so.
"We have had conversations at the end of the game. He is aware he's let the team down and he's aware it's a bad challenge."
