Police charge 23-year-old after altercation outside Vicarage Road

A man from Liverpool has been charged by Hertfordshire Police in the wake of Saturday's Premier League game between Watford and Everton at Vicarage Road.

The 23-year-old has been released on bail until March, in connection with offences of violent disorder, possession of class A (cocaine) and GBH.

Three other fans from Liverpool were also arrested following Watford's 1-0 victory.

A 32-year old man was cautioned for affray and possession of Class A (cocaine), another 32-year-old was given a caution for affray, and a 22-year-old was released with no further action.

The arrests followed an altercation outside the ground which left two men in need of hospital treatment - and one of them remained in hospital as of Monday morning.

A police spokeswoman said on Saturday evening: "At around 5.10pm, an altercation occurred between a group of men.

"Two sustained cuts and bruising to their faces and have been taken to hospital for further assessment."
