Merson's predictions

Everton are just going to come and park the bus and get ten men behind the ball. Then, they will hope they'll get something from a set piece. It will be tight, but Liverpool are just too good at home.

Also See:

They are scoring goals for fun at the moment, and I know their Achilles' heel is their defence, but I just don't see how Everton get at them. Sam Allardyce will do everything he can to make it a tight match, but that won't be enough.

PAUL PREDICTS: Liverpool 2-0 Everton

United have to win, now they have beaten Arsenal. If they had drawn at Arsenal, a win over City would still leave them too far back. Now United have had two massive results at Watford and Arsenal, they actually have to take the game to City now.

These are the games you look forward to all week, but often these games disappoint. This one will be different, though. Jose Mourinho is a master in these big games at setting up to contain the opposition, but they really have to have a go on Sunday.

Paul Pogba will be a big miss, and if he was playing, then I would go for United, but they will have enough not to get beaten. City are chasing records, so will also have a go. I can't wait.

Team news

Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno could be sidelined for up to six weeks with an ankle injury. James Milner is likely to fill the vacancy for Sunday's clash while captain Jordan Henderson is set to start in midfield after sitting out in midweek.

Phil Jagielka is set to return to the Everton squad. James McCarthy and Yannick Bolasie are back in training and nearing returns but both will be given run-outs for the U23 side before being considered for the first team.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola says he and Jose Mourinho are 'twins' regarding their obsession to win trophies.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Phil Jones and Nemanja Matic are available for Man Utd, while midfielder Marouane Fellaini will be assessed ahead of the game. Paul Pogba starts his three-match ban.

Manchester City playmaker David Silva is fit for the Old Trafford trip after overcoming a knock but captain Vincent Kompany is doubtful with an unspecified problem. Fabian Delph has recovered from a sickness bug.

Lukaku or Ibrahimovic?

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic returning to fitness, Jose Mourinho has a big decision to make. Should he persist with Romelu Lukaku up front? Or is it time to unleash last season's top scorer?
