Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini wins PFA Fans' Premier League Player of the Month

Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini has won the PFA Fans' Premier League Player of the Month award for February.

Over 40,000 votes were cast in the poll, which was held on the Sky Sports website and apps, with Gabbiadini claiming victory with 16,226 votes, beating Tottenham's Harry Kane and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Kane, who scored four league goals in February, came second with 11,665 votes, while Lukaku was third with 5,081 votes.

Rounding off the top six were Manchester United forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan (4,873), Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus (1,876) and West Brom defender Gareth McAuley (1,237).

The six candidates were chosen by our expert panel, which included Sky Sports pundits Peter Beagrie and Paul Merson, Mike Riley - general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials, and Malcolm Clarke - chairman of the Football Supporters' Federation.

And it is Gabbiadini, who has come out on top thanks to your votes, which have been verified by an independent party.

The Italian moved to St Mary's in January for £14.5m from Napoli and has hit the ground running, scoring four goals in his first three Premier League matches.

He has played four matches in all competitions for Southampton and scored six goals, including a double as Southampton lost 3-2 to Manchester United in the EFL Cup final last month.

The 25-year-old has also scored in each of his last seven successive matches for Napoli and Southampton.
