Charlie Nicholas gives his thoughts on Crystal Palace's 2-1 win at Middlesbrough in the Premier League

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas gives his verdict on Crystal Palace's 2-1 triumph on the road at Middlesbrough.

Christian Benteke scored his first Palace goal since completing a summer switch from Liverpool to put the south Londoners in front with a 16th-minute header.

The newly-promoted hosts were back on terms seven minutes before the break as Daniel Ayala rose to head home Stuart Downing's corner.

However, Wilfried Zaha struck what proved to be the decisive goal early in the second half, taking full advantage of a mistake by George Friend.

The win was Alan Pardew's first of the season and lifted the Eagles up to 12th spot in the Premier League table, while Boro drop to ninth.
