Lee Camp - Nottingham Forest
Forest earned a useful point in an East Midlands derby at Leicester in front of the Sky cameras on Saturday and Camp played a key role is achieving that. It was an impressive display from the 28-year-old goalkeeper but the highlight was undoubtedly his leaping save to palm away Martyn Waghorn's header in the second half.
Michael Morrison - Charlton Athletic
The Addicks centre-back was part of a back-four that kept one of only two clean sheets in the Championship at the weekend. More significantly for manager Chris Powell, his team also earned all three points in a 2-0 win at Bristol City on Sunday. Morrison grabbed the second of those goals, slotting home a loose ball inside the area to seal the win. The 24-year-old has also shown what a team player is of late - switching to right-back following an injury crisis against Cardiff.
Roger Johnson - Wolverhampton Wanderers
Part of a defence that conceded three goals at the weekend but Roger Johnson was the pick of the players on show in a battling display for 10-man Wolves against Brighton at the weekend. Gus Poyet was unhappy with his team's inability to convert his team's numerical advantage into points and that owed much to Johnson's gutsy diving header to earn Wolves a 3-3 draw in the dying moments at Molineux.
Mark Hudson - Cardiff City
The Cardiff skipper has seen his side suffer something of a wobble of late, losing three games out of four to be deposed from the top of the Championship. The Bluebirds even conceded five goals at Charlton last week but they were back to something approaching their best in a 2-1 win against Hull on Saturday. Hudson added the second goal inside the final 10 minutes and would have kept a clean sheet but for Robert Koren's stunning last-minute consolation goal.
Paul Dixon - Huddersfield Town
The summer signing from Dundee United has been an impressive addition for the Terriers and showed his qualities in a 1-0 win at Barnsley on Saturday. The 25-year-old left-back covered well for his team-mates and deserved to be part of a fifth clean sheet of the season for Simon Grayson's men. Dixon nearly managed to cap the display with a goal but even so he is a rising star in the Championship and was rewarded with his first Scotland cap in September.
Thomas Ince - Blackpool
With Wilfried Zaha earning a senior international call-up, Ince may well be thinking his opportunity will not be far away. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder found the net for the third consecutive game to equalise against Bolton at the weekend - his ninth goal of the season. It was a stunning goal in keeping with his superb performances for Blackpool in recent times and Ince is now adding consistency to his undoubted talent.
Guirane N'Daw - Ipswich Town
The former Birmingham midfielder has been drafted back into the Ipswich line-up following the appointment of Mick McCarthy and has been a key figure in the club turning things around. Saturday's home win over Burnley made it six points in three games for Suffolk side and the 28-year-old Senegal international provided good protection for his back-four.
Mark Davies - Bolton Wanderers
Getting the best out of Davies was likely to be an important challenge for new boss Dougie Freedman and the early signs are good for the Trotters. Never entirely comfortable in a two-man midfield, the 24-year-old has been impressive operating in a 4-2-3-1 formation under the former Crystal Palace manager and scored a good goal to give Bolton the lead at Blackpool at the weekend.
Ikechi Anya - Watford
The Scottish born winger of Nigerian-Romanian descent made an impressive first start for the Hornets in their spectacular 6-1 thrashing of Leeds on Saturday. Anya began his professional career at Wycombe before pitching up at Celta Vigo in Spain and is currently on loan at Watford from Granada. The Vicarage Road faithful will be hoping Anya is finally ready to settle down if he can produce many more assists like the one he did for Matej Vydra's second goal at the weekend.
Matej Vydra - Watford
The only player to score more than once in the Championship at the weekend, Vydra was a shoo-in for this team given his contribution to six-goal Watford's brilliant win at Leeds. The Czech international forward, on-loan from Udinese, has now netted seven goals in 13 games for the Hornets and his composed finish for the first goal set the visitors on their way to a remarkable win.
Jermaine Beckford - Huddersfield Town
Beckford was making his return from a hamstring injury at the weekend and could only manage an hour of action at Barnsley - but it proved vital. The on-loan Leicester forward headed home the only goal of the game at Oakwell to get the Terriers back to winning ways on the road after two consecutive away defeats. Grayson had Beckford at Leeds and seems to be the manager capable of making the striker tick.
