Premier League clubs spent £215m this winter - the second-highest total during January transfer windows.
England's top tier also splashed more cash than any other league in Europe, ahead of Ligue 1 (£130m), Bundesliga (£85m), Serie A (£80m) and La Liga (£20m), according to Deloitte.
It was also the first time Premier League clubs recorded net profit in a transfer window, making a combined £40m profit - boosted by the sales of Dimitri Payet, Memphis Depay and China-bound Oscar and Odion Ighalo.
The bottom six clubs accounted for half of the entire league's spending during the window, while the total Deadline Day spend for all clubs was £60m.
Meanwhile, Sky Bet Championship clubs spent £80m on signings to smash the league's all-time record during the window - having only recorded a £35m total last year - spending half of that figure on Deadline Day.

Chelsea and Manchester United recouped the biggest funds from departures, raising £62m and £46.2m, respectively.
