Paul Pogba, John Stones, Leroy Sane... We round up the Premier League's biggest transfer deals from the 2016 summer window.
Paul Pogba - £93.25m
Manchester United sealed by far the biggest deal in world football when Paul Pogba rejoined the club from Juventus for a world-record transfer fee of £89m. The France international penned a five-year contract and the 105m Euros fee will potentially increase to £93m through several add-on clauses.
The 23-year-old left United for Juventus in 2012 having made just seven senior appearances in all competitions for the club, all from the bench. But manager Jose Mourinho was determined to land his man and said the signing was key to his plans to revitalise the club and believes the player can join the list of Old Trafford greats.
John Stones - £50m
Stones moved to Manchester City from Everton in a £47.5m deal on a six-year contract. The fee made Stones the most expensive defender in Premier League history, increasing to £50m with add-ons. That would match the amount Paris Saint-Germain paid Chelsea for David Luiz, currently the most expensive defender in the world.
The 22-year-old, who ran further in Everton's defence than Adam Lallana did in Liverpool's midfield last season, is not shy of hard work and was the subject of three bids by Chelsea during last summer's transfer window - all of them turned down.
Leroy Sane - £37m
Germany forward Sane was Manchester City's next biggest signing when he joined for £37m, putting pen to paper on a five-year deal from Schalke.
Sane, who said he chose City because of Pep Guardiola, had been on City's radar since 2013 and is considered to be one of the most exciting young prospects in Europe.
He made his debut for Germany against France last year and was in the squad for Euro 2016 though he played only 11 minutes, against Les Bleus in the semi-final, which his side lost 2-0. "He has great technical ability, is comfortable on the ball and there is much to admire about the way he plays football," Guardiola said.
Sadio Mane - £36m
Mane joined the well-trodden path of players to leave St Mary's for Anfield when he signed for Liverpool on a five-year contract this summer, making him the most expensive African player in history.
A product of the Metz academy, Mane scored 21 goals in 67 Premier League appearances for the Saints after joining for £10m from Salzburg and moved to Southampton in 2014 for around £12m.
The Senegalese forward became the fifth player to join Liverpool from the south coast club in the last two years. "I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It's a club that has won a lot of trophies and has a big history," he said.
Shkodran Mustafi - £35m
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was forced into the transfer market to buy a new central defender following untimely pre-season injuries to both Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
As a result, the Frenchman decided to lure the Germany international, 24, to north London on a five-year contract for a fee that Sky Germany say could rise to as much as £35m.
However, with the deal only being finalised on August 30, the player will not link up with the Gunners until after the international break.
Granit Xhaka - £34m
The Swiss international became Arsenal's first signing of the summer and their third-most expensive transfer ever.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach captain guided the Bundesliga club to fourth place in the league last season and Champions League qualification in the past two seasons.
Xhaka, 23, made his first Gunners' start in the goalless draw at Leicester but shone as the Gunners beat Watford 3-1 at Vicarage Road.
Michy Batshuayi - £33.2m
The 22-year-old Belgium striker became Antonio Conte's first signing at Chelsea. He began his career at Standard Liege and joined Marseille in the summer of 2014, scoring 15 goals in his first season. He took a step forward last season with 26, including 17 in Ligue 1 even as Marseille struggled to 13th in the table.
Batshuayi scored in Belgium's last-16 win over Hungary at Euro 2016 and also came on in their quarter-final exit to Wales. After turning down a move to Crystal Palace, the player opted to move to Stamford Bridge, saying: "I am delighted to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe."
N'Golo Kante - £32m
Defensive midfielder Kante played a key role in Leicester's unlikely Premier League-winning success last season but left to join Chelsea earlier in the summer. He joined the Foxes from Caen last summer for £6m and went on to make 40 appearances in their sensational season, but only scored once.
"I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It's a dream come true for me," he said. Antonio Conte is a fan of Kante because of his ability to scurry around the pitch, snuffing out attacks from the opposition.
Eric Bailly - £30m
The Villarreal and Ivory Coast defender was the first player to join United since Jose Mourinho was appointed manager at Manchester United.
Bailly played 40 times in La Liga, the first five games being for Espanyol, and joined Villarreal for £4.4m in January 2015. The centre-half, who signed on a four-year deal, played in every match as Ivory Coast won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mourinho said: "Eric is a young central defender with great natural talent. He has progressed well to date and has the potential to become one of the best around. We look forward to working with him to help nurture that raw talent and fulfil his potential. Eric is at the right club to continue his development."
Moussa Sissoko - £30m
There was a late twist on Deadline Day as Everton-bound Moussa Sissoko had a last-minute change of heart and headed to Tottenham instead. It was a major blow for Ronald Koeman, after Everton had a £30m bid for the Frenchman accepted by Newcastle.
However, Mauricio Pochettino has bolstered his midfield options with Sissoko, a player who shone at the European Championships over the summer.
David Luiz - £30m
The biggest shock on Deadline Day was the news David Luiz is on his way back to Chelsea after the Blues bid £30m for the defender they sold to PSG two summers ago. The Brazil international has won back-to-back domestic trebles with the French giants since arriving in the French capital but will now aim to win his first Premier League crown with the west London club.
Luiz, who helped Chelsea to win the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup in his first spell, drove through the move himself, according to Sky sources. PSG were reluctant to sell the centre-back but Luiz sought out a meeting with the club's hierarchy, such was his desire to return to Stamford Bridge.
Islam Slimani - £29.7m
Premier League champions Leicester added to their frontline with the Deadline Day purchase of Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani. The Algeria ace netted 27 goals in 33 league appearances for Sporting last season and has an impressive record on the international stage with 23 strikes from his 43 caps.
The 28-year-old is a late bloomer - he was playing in the Algerian fourth tier just a few years ago - but seems intent on seizing his Premier League opportunity, saying the chance to join the reigning champions was something he "simply couldn't turn down".
