Curtis Jones is set to serve a three-match Premier League suspension after an appeal to overturn the red card he received in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur was unsuccessful.

The midfielder was initially shown a yellow card for a challenge on Yves Bissouma in the 26th minute of the fixture at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, that was upgraded to a straight red following intervention by the Video Assistant Referee, Darren England.

Jones will now be unavailable for the Reds' encounters with Brighton & Hove Albion, live on Sky Sports Premier League on Sunday afternoon, Everton and Nottingham Forest this month.

Meanwhile, Diogo Jota will also serve a one-match suspension following his sending-off for two yellow cards, ruling him out of Sunday's trip to the American Express Community Stadium.
