Chelsea are in talks with Sevilla over signing France international Jules Kounde.
The 22-year-old centre-back moved to the Spanish club two years ago and has gone on to establish himself as one of the most promising defenders in Europe.
He helped Sevilla qualify for the Champions League last season and was part of France's Euro 2020 squad this summer.
Kounde has also attracted the interest of Manchester City, who held talks with Sevilla over signing him last season.
A versatile performer, Kounde can line up at right-back if needed, as well as his usual position at the heart of the defence.
He currently has three years left on his contract with Sevilla - who have just parted with exciting winger Bryan Gil after he joined Spurs in a part-exchange deal that has seen Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction.
Chelsea will consider any offers for 23-year-old forward Tammy Abraham.
London rivals Arsenal are interested in Abraham, although they would prefer an initial loan while Chelsea would favour a permanent deal.
It is thought Chelsea would want upwards of £40m for Abraham and West Ham are also interested.
Abraham made 32 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season - but only seven of them came under Thomas Tuchel, who arrived in the middle of the season and went on to lead the club to Champions League success.
Abraham - whose contract is up in 2023 - still finished as Chelsea's joint-top scorer in all competitions with 12 goals.
Chelsea are in the market for a new striker and Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland is one of a number of players they are interested in.
