Former Manchester United and Everton assistant coach Steve Round is set to join Mikel Arteta's backroom team at Arsenal, Sky Sports News understands.
Round will join Arteta in the stands at Goodison Park on Saturday to watch Arsenal take on Everton in the Premier League.
Round worked under Steve McClaren during his spells in charge of Middlesbrough and England before joining Sam Allardyce at Newcastle in 2007.
The following year he became assistant to David Moyes at Everton and then joined him at Manchester United, before leaving the club in 2014 when the Scot was sacked.
Round later spent two years as director of football at Aston Villa before leaving the club in 2018.
The 49-year-old will join up with Arteta, who was appointed Arsenal head coach on Friday after signing a three-and-a-half-year deal at the Emirates.
The Spaniard replaces compatriot Unai Emery, who was sacked in November following a run of seven games without a win.
