Antonio Conte has been appointed as the new Inter Milan head coach following the sacking of Luciano Spalletti.
The Italian has signed a three-year contract at the San Siro in what is his first job since leaving Chelsea a year ago.
Conte said: "A new chapter in my life is beginning, I'm really excited. Through my work, I'll try to repay all of the trust that the president and directors have placed in me.
"I have chosen Inter because of the club it is, because of the project's sound basis and how ambitious it is. Because of Inter's history.
"I was struck by the club's transparency and the desire to bring Inter back to where it belongs."
Inter president Steven Zhang added: "I'm sure that Antonio Conte is one of the best coaches out there. I'm certain that he'll help us achieve our objective and fulfil our mission, one which has always remained the same: to make this club one of the best in the world again."
Conte spent two years at Chelsea, winning the Premier League and the FA Cup during his time in England, but left after falling out with the club's hierarchy.
Before his time at Stamford Bridge, the 49-year-old won three successive Serie A titles with Juventus and also took Italy to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.
His predecessor Spalletti left Inter after two seasons, although he guided the club to fourth in Serie A this season, meaning Conte will be coaching in the Champions League next campaign.

What to do with Icardi
Life is never dull with Mauro Icardi around. Earlier this season he was stripped of the captaincy after his wife upset some Inter players by talking about team issues on television. He's also had run-ins with hardcore supporters of the club.
The forward has scored at least 20 goals in three of the last four seasons, managing 11 in 28 games this season but has constantly been linked with a move to Juventus.
Conte must decide if the goals outweigh some of the off-pitch activities. If he does leave he could be a useful swap tool when signing other players.
Bringing back the glory days
The primary target for Conte from the Inter board is improving in the Champions League but first the club must get there! A win against Empoli on Sunday will secure a seat at Europe's top table next season.
They were the last Italian side to win the competition in 2010 under Jose Mourinho and the club wants a return to those glory days.
Reinforcements
Conte is keen to bolster the squad and is already planning moves for Romelu Lukaku and Victor Moses. Lukaku turned down a return to Chelsea to join Manchester United but that decision was never personal against the Italian.
Moses enjoyed his best run in the London side at wing-back under Conte but he sees him playing an equally important role in his preferred 4-3-3 formation next season.
Ivan Perisic
Like Icardi, he's been tipped for a move away and could also form part of a swap deal. Conte must decide if he is too important a player to let go.
Perisic has frequently been linked to Manchester United in recent years but would United still be interested and does he fit with Solskjaer's preferred approach? If so, using him as bait as part of a deal for Lukaku could make sense.
He has scored 9 goals this season but is now 30.
Working with Marotta
Conte is reunited with former Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta and it sends out a big signal appointing an ex-Juve captain to lead Inter.
Marotta handed Conte the chance to captain and manage the Turin club in 2011 and the pair have a strong working relationship.
