Aberdeen have confirmed that veteran defender Andrew Considine has signed a two-year contract extension, which will see him stay at Pittodrie until 2021.

After progressing through the club's youth system and making his first-team debut in 2004, the 32-year-old has gone on to spend his entire career at the Scottish Premier League side.

Considine, who was given a testimonial in 2015, is the sixth-highest appearance holder at Aberdeen with 476 and has scored 33 times for the Dons.

A statement on the club's Twitter account read: "We are delighted to announce that Andrew Considine has this afternoon signed at two-year contract extension, with the potential for a further year".

Considine has been a regular feature in Derek McInnes' side during their current SPL campaign, with the Dons academy graduate making 41 appearances, scoring on four occasions.

The versatile defender, who can also operate at left-back, has committed his future to his local side once again as he did in 2017, when he agreed an extension of two years.
