Gunners boss Unai Emery has also given his seal of approval to the north Londoners making a move for former Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco this month. The 24-year-old Belgian currently plies his trade in the Chinese Super League with Dalian Yifang. (Foot Mercato)

Inter Milan face an uphill battle to tie star striker and club captain Mauro Icardi down to a new deal at the San Siro. The Nerazzurri have offered terms worth £7m a year-net to the 25-year-old Argentinian, but his agent and wife, Wanda Icardi, is demanding £9m a year. Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong - who is wanted by a host of Europe's biggest clubs, including Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus - has chosen to sign for Barcelona, agreeing personal terms on a five-year deal. Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has also agreed to join Barcelona, but no contract has yet been signed. The La Liga champions are eager to commit the French midfielder to a pre-contract, confirming his arrival at the Nou Camp when his PSG deal expires at the end of the season. (Sport)

Arsenal transfer target Denis Suarez has been promised by Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu that he will be allowed to leave the Nou Camp this month. The Spanish midfielder, 25, has featured in just 17 minutes of La Liga action this season. (Marca)

Newcastle United have joined the race to sign highly-rated Trabzonspor midfielder Abdulkadir Omur. The 19-year-old, dubbed "the Turkish Messi", is also a Liverpool transfer target. (Karadeniz)
