Willo Flood has cancelled his contract at Dunfermline Athletic just one week after joining the club in order to sign for Indonesian side Bali United.
The 33-year-old moved to the Scottish Championship side when his contract with Dundee United expired, and began pre-season training with his new club last week.
However, Flood - who had a clause in his Dunfermline deal allowing him to leave for a foreign club - has now had a change of heart and is set to move to Bali in the Indonesian top flight, Liga 1.
Flood said: "I would like to thank Allan (Johnston, Dunfermline manager) and the club for their understanding in this matter, as I fully appreciate it leaves them in a very difficult and embarrassing position.
"This opportunity is just too good for me and my family to turn down. I have only been in training for a week, but I have really enjoyed my short time at East End Park and genuinely wish the club every success this season."
Announcing Flood's premature departure, Johnston described the Irishman as a "great professional" and added Dunfermline had a "first option" to sign him if he returns to Scotland.
Bali are currently 10th out of 18 teams in Liga 1.
