Massimiliano Allegri admitted Juventus had to "suffer" to beat Tottenham and progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
With the tie level at 2-2 after the first leg, Juve looked to be on the ropes as they fell further behind at Wembley and struggled to create chances.
Allegri played a role in the win as his substitutions helped Juve improve, but he said: "Firstly I think the guys put in a fantastic performance.
"The changes made a difference and gave us a real boost, it was the right time because I felt there had been a bit of dip in the physicality of the Spurs players. Even at 1-0 down we had a good reaction and we carried on playing, we knew we were capable of scoring and if anything we were concerned that we would concede another goal.
"You are going to find certain games that are really tough. We did suffer, but that's normal in football. We worked on possession a great deal and that was important to us."
Juventus, who have reached the final for two of the last three years, join Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City in the last eight.
"We are happy with what happened tonight but we need to go away and start thinking about our next game," said Allegri. "We are having a good season, we are in the final of the Coppa Italia, doing well in the league and through to the next round of the Champions League. Who knows, anything can happen in the Champions League.
"First and foremost we are really happy we won tonight and are through to the last eight. There are some really good teams in the last eight."
Allegri also paid tribute to his goal-scorers, saying: "Dybala and Higuain put in a fantastic effort and fantastic shift. Higuain has been out for a fortnight and has only done light training and Paulo has been out and has only just come back.
"He is a young player, he is an important player for us and improving and showing he can play very well in Europe which is great news for him and our team."
