Sean Dyche expects stand-in skipper Ben Mee to be in contention for Burnley's home clash with Stoke on Tuesday.

The centre-back missed Saturday's victory over Watford at Turf Moor, which kept the Clarets within a point of the Champions League places, because of a knee problem.

Matt Lowton also missed a third consecutive game with a knee injury and is more of a doubt for the next Premier League game in three days' time.

After a 1-0 victory on Saturday - Burnley's eighth of the season - Dyche confirmed: "Lowts is touch and go, but I think Ben will have a chance."

Ahead of the game at a snowy Turf Moor, which increased the Clarets' lead over Watford to six points, Dyche had said Mee took a knock in the away defeat at Leicester that required "a couple of stitches just above the knee".

Of Lowton, he said: "Matt is making good progress but it's touch and go with the game quickly afterwards on Tuesday."
