From Monday and throughout the week, we'll be highlighting some of the challenges and issues faced by our referees from the grassroots right up to the Premier League.
From training to technology and decision-making, we'll shine a spotlight on those marshalling the game.
How many decisions does an average ref have to make in a game? How fit do they have to be? Are they accountable enough, and should more video technology be introduced to aid the big calls?
We'll reveal the results of an exclusive survey investigating your attitudes towards the standard of refereeing in the Premier League and get the views of some key figures.
