Brendan Rodgers insists Albion Rovers have been getting Celtic's full attention ahead of their Scottish Cup clash on Sunday.

The Hoops travel to the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie for the fourth round tie, which is live on Sky Sports 5, for their first competitive game against Rovers since 1976.

Celtic are unbeaten domestically, with a 19-point lead over the chasing pack in the Scottish Premiership and with the League Cup already secured with a victory over Aberdeen at Hampden in November.

Rodgers is wary of treating the Coatbridge side lightly, and he insists that would be counter-productive following Celtic's winter break in Dubai.

"Every single game we have played this season, whether it is Barcelona or Alloa, we have always prepared with the same intensity and the same detail and this will be no different," Rodgers said.

"We monitored them before the break, when we knew who we had and we have done all our reports, looking at how they play and of course, it is on neutral ground.

"But no, the preparation doesn't change. The minute it does, that's when you have a problem.

"So as a coaching team we need to ensure that every aspect of the game is covered so we can give the players enough confidence to go out and do the job and enjoy the game."

As a boyhood Celtic supporter Rodgers has great affinity with the Scottish Cup, a competition his club have won a record 36 times.

Rodgers said: "When I was growing up you had the FA Cup and the Scottish Cup, games you always looked out for.

"The Scottish Cup has a wonderful history, a great tradition and again, another competition that we want to do well in. The rest and freshness will really help us.

"We had a tough game against Alloa earlier in the season and Albion Rovers are from the same league so it will be equally as tough.

"We will be ready for Sunday."
