Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by north London rivals Tottenham and it wasn't such a great weekend for Manchester City, who were held to a draw by Middlesbrough.

Victor Anichebe (Bournemouth 1-2 SUNDERLAND)

All Anichebe had offered to the Sunderland cause prior to this match was an unfortunate Twitter gaffe but he showed his true worth with an all-action display.

On his first start for Sunderland in the Premier League, he ran the Bournemouth defence ragged, scored the opening goal and won the penalty for Jermain Defoe to slot away. His goal was a moment of individual brilliance.

Picking the ball up with his back to goal, he spun Simon Francis in the box before firing into the top corner from a tight angle. The platform is now there for Anichebe and Defoe to fire Sunderland up the Premier League table.

Ben Mee (BURNLEY 3-2 Crystal Palace)

Mee turned in a near-faultless display at the heart of the Burnley back line as his side beat Crystal Palace 3-2 at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon, the Clarets' fourth home win already in the Premier League this season.

The centre back, 27, was in commanding form, especially after the visitors had recovered from two goals down to draw level in the second half, making several vital blocks and clearances as Palace went in search of a winning goal.

And even in the first period, the Englishman was needed to put out several fires in the Burnley defence, with the Eagles pushing to get back in the game after conceding two early goals.

In fact, without Mee's man-of-the-match performance, there is every chance the home team would not have come away with another massive three points.

Victor Valdes (Manchester City 1-1 MIDDLESBROUGH)

He didn't have the happiest time in Manchester with City's rivals United, but Valdes was on superb form at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon as Middlesbrough earned a vital point.

The Spaniard made six saves during the 1-1 draw, the best coming in the first half as Boro's goal was peppered, finger-tipping away David Silva's close-range effort.

He also showed great bravery in denying Jesus Navas from getting past him in the penalty area, taking a nasty wound to the thigh in the process, and commanded his area as City delivered from both flanks, totalling 17 crosses in the first half to Boro's one.

Charlie Adam (West Ham 1-1 STOKE CITY)

Restored to the midfield against Swansea on Monday, Adam did enough to keep his place at West Ham and will now fancy his chances of a run in the side after another impressive performance.

The Scot's bite alongside Glenn Whelan helped Stoke restrict the Hammers' flair players, and his smart distribution brought the rush of blood from Adrian that led to City's equaliser.

West Ham 1-1 Stoke

Add in some accurate long-range shooting and a couple of smart give-and-gos around the edge of the West Ham box and Adam did enough to earn the prize in an unremarkable game.

Eden Hazard (CHELSEA 5-0 Everton)

The undoubted star of the show as Chelsea dazzled at Stamford Bridge with a 5-0 thrashing of Everton that sent them top of the Premier League.

The Belgian was in inspired form and set the hosts on their way in the 19th minute, firing into the far corner to score for the fourth Premier League game in a row. Less than 30 seconds later his clever turn set up the second goal for Marcos Alonso.

Chelsea 5-0 Everton

Hazard got on the scoresheet again after half-time and although his bid for a hat-trick was denied by Maarten Stekelenburg, the rebound fell out for Pedro to score the fifth. He was given a deserved standing ovation when he was replaced.

Mousa Dembele (Arsenal 1-1 TOTTENHAM)

Mauricio Pochettino described the Belgian as a "genius" after Sunday's draw at Arsenal, following a man-of-the-match performance which saw the midfielder help claw Tottenham back into the game with a special piece of play.

With Spurs picking up the pace after half-time, Dembele's positive run into the Arsenal box came from nothing, and having forced Laurent Koscielny into a clumsy foul, Harry Kane was able to equalise from the spot.

Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham

Dembele's passing accuary (89.4 per cent) was the highest of any player, as well as his passing accuracy in the opposition half (86.2 per cent), while he regained possession more times than any other Spurs player (seven).

Philippe Coutinho (LIVERPOOL 6-1 Watford)

The little magician was at it again during Liverpool's 6-1 thrashing of Watford at Anfield on Nissan Super Sunday, putting in another stunning display and earning himself a spot on the Premier League hotlist for a second consecutive week.

He was the continuous epicentre of the raucous Reds attack and chipped in with the assist for Sadio Mane's opening first-half goal and got on the scoresheet himself three minutes later.

Special mention should also go to fellow Brazilian Roberto Firmino who was also impressive on Sunday, but Coutinho continues to shine as Liverpool top the Premier League table for the first time in over two years.

Robert Snodgrass (HULL 2-1 Southampton)

Snodgrass only "had 30 minutes in the tank", according to his manager Mike Phelan, but that did not stop the midfielder from turning in a man-of-the-match display in his side's 2-1 win against Southampton at the KCOM Stadium.

The Scotland international was making his comeback from an ankle problem on Sunday afternoon, but was just fit enough to take his place among the Tigers' substitutes, only to be introduced into the fray midway through the first half after an injury to Michael Keane.

And the 29-year-old turned the game on its head by first drawing the Tigers level just past the hour-mark, before creating the winner for Michael Dawson only 125 seconds later.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Swansea 1-3 MANCHESTER UNITED)

Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic (left) celebrates with Wayne Rooney after scoring his side's third goal during the Premier League match v Swansea

Ibrahimovic had not scored in his last six Premier League games and managed just one goal from his last 91 efforts at goal. But he strapped his shooting boots back on as United rampaged past a woeful Swansea City, scoring from both his efforts at goal and providing a valuable platform in attack for Wayne Rooney and Paul Pogba to shine on.

Rooney found the Swede with a crisp pass on 21 minutes, and from 25 yards out he dropped his shoulder before pinging a low effort beyond the grasp of Lukasz Fabianski. He grabbed a second after another fine move involving Rooney. Unfortunately for United, Ibrahimovic picked up his fifth yellow card of the season and will miss the next match against Arsenal.

Matty Phillips (Leicester 1-2 WEST BROM)

Leicester 1-2 West Brom

The Scottish international winger was a menace from start to finish, creating James Morrison's opener early in the second half with a delightful cross right onto the head of his team-mate, before capitalising on Danny Drinkwater's underhit backpass to net the winner 18 minutes from time.
