Zinedine Zidane has warned his squad of superstars that they cannot afford to switch off after managing to salvage a point at Legia Warsaw.

The Real Madrid boss admits having global superstars in most positions does not guarantee results, and they blew a two-goal Champions League lead in the Polish capital midweek before drawing 3-3

"I always think I have the best squad in the world, but at the same time that is not enough," he said.

"We need to go out onto the pitch and always play at our top level for 90 minutes. To be persistent is the hardest thing in football."

Zidane was speaking ahead of Madrid's clash with Leganes at the Bernabeu on Sunday.

Real remain two points above Barcelona at the top of La Liga but have failed to keep a clean sheet in 10 games.

Real will be without their preferred centre-back pairing as Sergio Ramos and Pepe are both ruled out through injury. Zidane has urged the full team to be tighter as a unit.

"It doesn't worry me," he said. "I don't like conceding goals and the players like it even less, but it is a question for everyone, not just the defenders.

"We can all improve and what I am going to do is impose more calm."
