Leeds skipper Liam Bridcutt could return to contention for the home EFL Cup tie against Blackburn.

Midfielder Bridcutt missed Saturday's win at Cardiff due to a foot injury sustained against Rovers in last week's league clash between the two sides at Elland Road.

Head coach Garry Monk is likely to make several changes and the likes of Tyler Denton, who scored on his debut in the previous round at Luton, fellow defenders Liam Cooper and Lewie Coyle, plus midfielders Alex Mowatt and Matt Grimes could return to the starting line-up.

Team news

Right-back Gaetano Berardi remains Monk's only injury absentee as he works his way back from a long-term hamstring injury.

Blackburn boss Owen Coyle has confirmed he will make "eight or nine changes" to the side which clinched their first league win of the season against Rotherham on Saturday.

Derrick Williams and Tommie Hoban are both cup-tied and fellow defender Gordon Greer will play no part after sustaining a knock at the weekend.

Charlie predicts

Blackburn finally got a result at the weekend but Owen Coyle is under pressure already and it looks like a real struggle for them this season.

Monk looked close to the end but suddenly they've got a couple of results and people are starting to believe again. It feels like they are improving, with Abel Hernandez providing the creativity behind their main threat Chris Wood.
