Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said the late goal his side conceded against Crystal Palace was a 'sickener' as the game finished 1-1 at Selhurst Park.
Bournemouth had led through Josh King right up until stoppage time when until Scott Dann climbed highest to meet Jason Puncheon's delivery and head past the excellent Artur Boruc.
"When you think you're so close to that first win, those valuable three points, it's a sickener," Howe said. "You are desperate for that first win; it was a game of two halves really for us.
"I thought we was excellent first half. Second half we had our backs to the wall; fair play to Palace, they put us under pressure. The late goal is a difficult one to swallow."
Several brilliant saves from Boruc throughout - notably the penalty stop from Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye moments after Bournemouth had scored, left an impression on Howe, who also praised the defence for their resolute efforts and felt the spot-kick was hastily awarded.
"(Boruc) was magnificent, the penalty save was key and I think he made several other great saves in the second half and we really did come under the cosh. we threw our bodies on the line, defended brilliantly at times, but it just wasn't to be.
"I thought it was harsh, I need to see it again, I'm only seeing it live, probably haven't got a great view, so maybe someone will tell me different.
"They are such a strong physical team, very difficult to stop the direct play and we ended up sinking very deep trying to protect what we had."
