Bournemouth were held 1-1 by Reading at the Madejski Stadium in a pre-season friendly on Friday night.
Lewis Cook gave the visitors a first-half lead, only for John Swift to level matters up just after half-time as new Royals head coach Jaap Stam drew his first match in charge of the Championship club.
Bournemouth opened the scoring after 38 minutes when Cook broke clear of the home back line, before keeping his cool to fire low past Reading goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi.
However, it did not take Reading long to pull level as after good play down the right flank by Craig Tanner, the second-half substitute's inviting cross was converted by former Chelsea midfielder Swift on the half volley.
Despite enjoying the better of the second period, though, Reading could not find a winner for their new manager.
