Joe Ledley will miss the FA Cup final and is major doubt for Euro 2016 after suffering a fractured leg.

The 29-year-old limped out of Crystal Palace's 2-1 win over Stoke just 11 minutes after coming on as substitute at the weekend.

Ledley was initially thought to have sustained an Achilles problem in the challenge with Stoke's Charlie Adam at Selhurst Park, but scan results reveal he has fractured his fibula.

"The club can confirm that midfielder Joe Ledley sustained a leg injury in the game against Stoke City on Saturday, which saw him suffer a fracture of the fibula," confirmed Palace on their website.

"He will be continually assessed over the next few weeks by the club's medical staff."

Chris Coleman has announced his provisional 29-man squad for Euro 2016

The former Cardiff midfielder will now miss the Wembley showdown with Manchester United on May 21 and faces a major fitness race for the tournament in France.

Wales boss Chris Coleman is expected to give Ledley every chance to regain his fitness for France as he has been a key player in helping the country reach their first major finals since 1958.

Sky Sources understand the Football Association of Wales is hopeful that Ledley still has a chance of making the Euros, but it is looking increasingly unlikely he will be fit for their opening match against Slovakia on June 11.

Wales travel to their training camp in Portugal in a fortnight and the 29-year-old's progress will continue to be closely monitored by Coleman.

Ledley was due to play in his second FA Cup final after being part of the Cardiff side that lost to Portsmouth in 2008.
